A filmmaker with over 23 years of immersive experience in the vibrant Auckland film, television and video-production industry, Amarbir has donned multiple hats throughout his career, including directing, camera operation, editing, stills photography and teaching performance. His extensive portfolio encompasses a diverse array of projects, ranging from feature films, music videos and corporate productions, to documenting events and profiles for community and arts organisations.

Amarbir's passion lies in storytelling through digital filmmaking and photography, where he specialises in weaving captivating narratives. His intent as a storyteller is to vocalise that which there is no language for.

Says Amarbir, "Through staging a story one can show an aspect of themselves that they otherwise struggle to understand and articulate. I see my experience as a migrant from India to New Zealand as reflective of wider changes happening globally. A story provides the context for the unfolding of awareness around this."
