Join 25+ young musicians from Aotearoa's various cultural communities for an evening of global music. The powhiri starts at 6pm. Entry is free but a koha is appreciated.
Founded in 1990, Ethno is a global movement for young musicians within the folk/traditional/world-music scene. Now in 30+ countries, this is the fourth year it’s taken place in Aotearoa/NZ.
Ethno is an artistic residency, with all participants staying on site for the duration of the camp where they explore each other's traditions, music and techniques. Ethno provides an opportunity for young people from across the globe to come together and engage through music in a manner that is characterised by respect, generosity and openness.
