Bowie at Whammy!

It's hard to believe, but this Friday marks nine years since David Bowie took his final trip to the stars. Every year since then, Whammy! (St Kevins Arcade, Karangahape Rd) has celebrated his extraordinary legacy with Let's Dance, hosted by DJs Pennie Black, Kailee Raven and Tina Turntables. This year, the Ockham Collective's resident Bowie obsessive Peter Drag will be joining them on the decks.

It's always a really fun night, and the perfect excuse to put on your red shoes and dance off the blues. Expect an evening of wall-to-wall Bowie and Bowie-adjacent dancefloor hits, remixes and rarities. The crowd is as eclectic as the man himself, from pretty things in satin and tat, to those well into their golden years.
