Our latest laureate
Pop the Lindauer special reserve... we're celebrating!
The Arts Foundation Te Tumu Toi has just named seven laureates who they identify as Aotearoa New Zealand’s most outstanding artists for 2022, 'recognised for their outstanding practice as well as their significant impact'. Among them is our very own Paula Morris (Ngāti Wai, Ngāti Whātua, Ngāti Manuhiri; pictured back row, second from right), lauded for her contribution to the nation's literature.
We're not surprised. Since joining the Collective earlier this year, Paula has been a whirlwind of creativity. Alongside her day job directing the Master of Creative Writing programme at the University of Auckland, Paula has chaired the Ockham New Zealand Book Awards committee, initiated our very successful Songs of a Poem event as part of the Auckland Writers Festival, and launched a series of literary salons at The Nix.
We're chuffed for her and can't think of anyone more deserving of the honour.
