Talia's epic tales
With the spring school holidays fast approaching, the Ockham Collective's Talia Pua is working on a free whānau-friendly show which will tour libraries across Tāmaki Makaurau. You can get a first look at Friends Exploring Epic Tales at Kōanga Festival’s Whānau Day at Te Pou Theatre in Henderson at 1pm on Saturday 7 September.
‘The titular friends are Dinghy, Ryan and Garge, who all have a tale to tell’, says Talia. ‘They are a rambunctious and dysfunctional travelling trio, ambushing audiences with fairy tales while squabbling over the best way to tell them’. Expect a modern take on familiar tales and plenty of audience input.
The library tour continues with performances in Kumeū (3 October, 10.30am), Waitākere Central (3 October, 1pm), Howick (3 October, 4pm), New Lynn (4 October, 10.30am), Te Atatū Peninsula (4 October, 1pm), Mt Albert (5 October, 11am), Epsom (5 October, 1.15pm), Central City (5 October, 3.30pm), Warkworth (10 October, 10.30am), Wellsford (10 October, 1pm), Blockhouse Bay (11 October, 10.30am), Mt Roskill (11 October, 3.30pm), Waiuku (12 October, 10.30am) and Pukekohe (12 October, 1pm).
