The Music Van

The Music Van

After a hit debut at the NZ Fringe Festival and a wildly successful tour, the Ockham Collective's Tom Knowles is finally brining his Roadkill Karaoke Van to Auckland with a season at Basement Theatre.

ROADKILL: The Uber-Cool Musical is an immersive, one-man, rock 'n' roll theatre experience like no other. Performed in the back of a neon-lit 10-seater van, this laugh-out-loud musical comedy takes you on a high-octane journey through love, life, and late-night karaoke chaos. At the NZ Fringe in Wellington, ROADKILL took out the 'Most Innovative Show' award, while at the Dunedin Fringe it won 'Best in Fringe'.

Created and performed by Tom Knowles, ROADKILL is part stand-up, part musical, part fever dream — and 100% unforgettable. From heartfelt ballads to rave-style bangers, this show will have you singing, laughing, and maybe even shedding a tear, all from the comfort of the van’s back seat. It’s as if Flight of the Conchords, Bo Burnham, and your last weird Uber ride had a musical lovechild in a Temu-fied party van.

Seats are limited to nine tickets per performance (it's in an actual van, after all), and available through the Basement website.
