APO & TV Shows
Team OC has had some wins lately, and we're proud as a pūkeko to share them with you.
First up, Martin Roberts has been accepted to a role within the cello section of the Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra (where he'll be joining OC alumni, violinist Joella Pinto, who also happens to be his wife). Aside from the APO, you can catch Martin performing Haydn's Emperor Quartet and Shostakovich's Piano Quintet in G minor as part of Ensemble East at 7pm on Thursday 20 July at All Saint's Church in Howick. Entry by koha.
In case you were wondering, the picture above isn't of Ensemble East. Or even the APO. It's there to highlight the fact that Season 2 of the critically acclaimed local TV series Creamerie will be going to air on the 14th of July on TVNZ+. The Ockham Collective's Emmy-winning writer Dan Musgrove (we'll never get sick of saying that) is part of the writing team and script-edited the season. If you didn't catch the first season, this dystopian dramedy is set in a world where a virus has wiped out 99.9% of men (Season 1 is already on TVNZ+, so get binging!). Season 2 follows fugitive dairy farmers Pip, Jamie and Alex on a road trip to discover the real truth about the “mandemic”.
We're thrilled to say that Dan isn't the only one of the Ockham Collective to have their work streaming on TVNZ+ this month. Marina Alofagia McCartney wrote and directed the vignette set in Samoa for the portmanteau feature film Vai, which is now streaming on the platform. Released in 2019, this extraordinary movie explores the lifetime of one woman told through seven stories, each set in a different Pacific Island nation.
