October gigs at the Nix

Aside from our regular busy programme of Irish, Bluegrass, Old-Time and ukulele sessions, we've got a couple of special gigs coming up at the Nix this month.

First up, on Wednesday 9 October, Auckland Bluegrass Club is hosting Adam McGrath (of The Eastern fame), hot on the heels of winning the Folk Artist of the Year category at the 2024 Aotearoa Music Awards. Come prepared to be blown away by an extraordinarily powerful performer. Doors open at 7pm for a 7.30pm start, with tickets $20 on the door.

Then, on Saturday 19 October, there's a gig by Paper Dragon, kicking off at 7.30pm (doors open 7pm). They describe themselves as an 'Unpop' band who 'write all sorts of songs, often set poems to music, and banter a good bit'. Entry will be via koha at the door, with part of the proceeds going to Forest & Bird.
