The power of the Dave
We're never beyond bragging about the achievements of our OC alumni and this month there's a lot to brag about.
First up, banjo bandit David Ward has been busy fielding TV and radio interviews about his starring role as Benedict Cumberbatch's fingers in The Power of the Dog, to coincide with Dame Jane Campion's history-making Best Director win at the Oscars (the first woman ever to win this category twice). David wrote and played the banjo pieces in the movie, and his fingers even made the big screen. If you fancy yourself as an up-and-coming Cumberbatch, book a lesson with David at our Tuatahi precinct.
Also teaching at Tuatahi is blue-haired guitar guru Jessie Booth. Her band Ekko Park has a new single out, Breakdown, which has been getting radio play on rock stations in New Zealand and Australia.
You can also catch Kingsley Spargo performing this Saturday (2 April) at Kumeu Live.
