Writers Write: Actors Read
As we mentioned last month, we've got a new monthly series launching at the Nix on Thursday 6 June. Hosted by the Ockham Collective's Bridget van der Zijpp, Writers Write: Actors Read is an evening when well-known actors read from recently published, homegrown, short stories.
There's a stellar cast lined up for the debut: Elisabeth Easther (Shortland Street's most notorious nurse) and Jamie Irvine (Tinā's most notorious teacher). The lovely Elizabeth will be reading from Michelle Duff's Collateral while the lovely Jamie will be tackling American Microphones by recent Ockham NZ Book Award-winner Damien Wilkins. Tickets are only $12 via eventfinda.
This isn't the only series that Bridget is hosting at the Nix. Writers Anonymous is a weekly session from 10am to midday on Tuesdays where writers get together to work independently on their own current projects. As the blurb says: 'no work sharing, no fee, just going at it'. Scroll down to the bottom of this newsletter for more information and email Bridget to book your spot.
