We love books. That's why we wholeheartedly endorse the kaupapa of Kotahi Rau Pukapuka, an organisation committed to translating 100 books into te reo Māori.
Last week we were thrilled to host Kotahi Rau Pukapuka at our new Ockham Collective space in The Nix, as they launched the seventh book in the ambitious series. Te Koroua me te Moana is a translation by Greg Koia (pictured; photo Jamie Te Huia Cowell) of the Ernest Hemingway classic The Old Man and the Sea. It adds to translated titles by Dr Seuss, JK Rowling, Paul Coelho, Marvel Comics, Witi Ihimaera and Tā Tīmoti Kāretu that already take pride of place on our bookshelf.
Kia kaha te reo Māori!
