Ockham Lecture trifecta

Ockham Lecture trifecta

This month Objectspace gallery is spoiling our brains with three instalments of their popular Ockham Lecture series.

First up, on Thursday 11 August, Korean-born Kiwi costume designer and multi-disciplinary artist Steven Junil Park will be talking on the subject of language through making.

This will be followed on Thursday 16 August by artist James Tapsell-Kururangi (pictured; photo Misong Kim) in conversation with academic Paora Tapsell. They will be discussing the complexities of holding important taonga within museums, in reference to a kōauau (flute) once famously played by James' ancestor Tūtānekai in order to woo Hinemoa.

Lastly, on Friday 29 August, graphic designer James Goggin will be speaking on New Fuzzy Logic, an intentionally imprecise computational theory.

The Ockham Lectures are free but you'll need to register online to attend.
