May at the OC

If you missed it earlier this year, H.R. The Musical – written by the Ockham Collective's Amy Mansfield – is returning for the International Comedy Festival, starting at Auckland's Q Theatre.

It's Ockham time

It's not long now until New Zealand literature's big night. The winners of the 2024 Ockham New Zealand Book Awards will be announced in the usual glittering ceremony on Wednesday 15 May at the Aotea Centre.

April Calendar

Two of our OC whanau will be taking to the stage in Hotel Sol at Covert Theatre as part of the Auckland Improv Festival. Also in April, Amy Mansfield and collaborator Rachel Davies are bringing the Write Club to The Nix

March Calendar

Although we may have seemed a bit quiet of late, plenty has been happening behind the scenes. We're currently preparing for the official launch of our OC year later this month.

Midweek Music

This year at the Ockham Collective we've decided to designate Wednesday nights at The Nix as music nights. Think of it as a little musical bump to get you over the hump.

2023 in review

At risk of sounding like the IOC president at an Olympics closing ceremony, 2023’s Ockham Collective was, once again, the best ever. As we end one year and gear up for the next, we thought we'd take an opportunity to look back.

October OC events

October's Ockham Collective events include poetry, panel discussions and much plucking of strings and pounding of keys. Click below for a calendar of performances, sessions and club nights.

Howdy Bluegrassers

Starting from Wednesday 11 October, the Auckland Bluegrass club will meet at The Nix on every second Wednesday. NB: The Pipipickers have now replaced Butter Wouldn’t Melt on the bill.

Blaze of colour

In September and October Lucie Blaze is gracing the walls of The Nix with her Emotions in Motion exhibition of abstract paintings. Coinciding with the exhibition she's reviving her Born to Create series of panel discussions.

What's that sound?

Are you looking for some warm sounds to keep the winter blues away? This Friday, Women About Sound come to The Nix with a line-up led by Ava & Leov – a new project by singer-songwriters Avalon Hewitt and the OC's Jessie Leov. Joining them will be Madeleine Worsley with Samantha Cheong, Maddy South, ABBIE and Scarlett Lashes.
